The last 3 months, I've been consistent with using a LED facial mask and it does take consistency and time. It's not like you use it once, and you can expect a transformation.

The LED devices out there are absolutely not all the same. In fact, even LED light is not all the same. So, I feel this is where we need to be particular about how we choose what we invest in.

LED therapy was first developed and studied by NASA. They discovered that red light had this ability to heal the wounds of astronauts while they were in space by encouraging the production of collagen in their skin. Since then, there have been a bunch of studies, so that we actually have evidence-based results.

There are devices out there with lights that represent every color of the rainbow, so we're just going to focus on the few that we know have skin benefits.

1. The 620nm (Red Led)mode to treat fine lines and wrinkles.
Red light naturally stimulates the production of collagen in skin cells, responsible for skin firmness and elasticity. Increased collagen reduces fine lines and wrinkles and shrinks pores, improving skin texture and promoting smooth, youthful skin.

2.The 415nm (Blue Led)mode to eliminate acne and blemishes
Bacteria in acne contain Porphyrins, accumulating in pores and causing breakouts and inflammation. The blue light wave-length kills these light-sensitive Porphyrins both above and below the skin, reducing acne, calming inflammation and redness, and leaving you with a clearer, brighter, smoother complexion.

3.The 415-620nm (Purple Led)mode for multiple treatments at once
Combining the benefits of Red (620nm) and Blue (415nm) light, the purple LED wavelength has an antibacterial effect, helping to treat acne, while also stimulating collagen production to treat fine lines and wrinkles.

There are also devices available that only focus on one particular area of your face, like lips, glasses for eyes. I kind of feel like you might just get the one for the whole face because that will do everything so as far as these sort of handheld devices go.

For me, I notice a significant improvement in wrinkle reduction, as well as photo aging in a period of 12 weeks of consistent use, as well as smoothness, softness and plumpness.
